Customer Stories: Pedal Event Fundraisers

Pedal event fundraisers are a fun and creative way to bring supporters together for an indoor cycling event that can easily offer both in-person and virtual options. With GiveSignup’s free tools including free Email Marketing, free websites, and integrated fundraising and donations, nonprofits can raise more and engage supporters with a unique and creative pedal fundraising event.

Here are three examples from some of our creative customers of their pedal fundraising events that showcase the extensive possibilities with GiveSignup’s easy to use purpose-built features.

Peloton4Parkinsons

Peloton4Parkinsons is hosting their 7th annual pedaling event with the goal of raising money to help find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease. All proceeds raised are donated to The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Using GiveSignup, they’ve created an effective website that streamlines hybrid registration options, event photos, and fundraising pages for all participants.

Registration Options

Peloton4Parkinsons is a hybrid event offering in-person and virtual options this year. This enables every supporter to participate in the way that they feel comfortable. They set up registration to make the two options clear with a pricing discount for the virtual option.

Photo Platform

Using GiveSignup’s free photo platform, the Peloton4Parkinsons website has a page dedicated to photos so that event day images can be posted. They also allow participants the option to upload their own photos (perfect for virtual and hybrid events!) This feature keeps supporters coming to your website even after the event, with the options to search for images of specific people based on name or bib number, as well as easily download photos and share on Facebook.

Fundraising Pages For Participants

Peloton4Parkinsons set a $750 goal for all fundraiser participants, and pages are automatically created for participants when they register. Fundraisers can further customize their pages, including adding photos, custom text, and more.

Team and individual fundraiser pages display fundraising milestones and badges for hitting different goals including amount raised, team member, first donation, Facebook fundraiser status, and number of donors. They customized achievements with specific rewards shown in the fundraiser’s trophy case.

Pedaling 4 Paige

Paige’s Butterfly Run is a Syracuse-based nonprofit that raises funds to benefit pediatric cancer patients and their families in Central New York. This year, they are hosting their 7th annual indoor Pedaling 4 Paige event that raises funds in honor of children and families who have been touched by a diagnosis of pediatric cancer and other blood disorders. The proceeds from the event support local pediatric cancer research and patient programs for kids and families fighting cancer at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY.

Event options

Pedaling 4 Paige offers two options to participate, an in-person live event or virtually by completing a ride anywhere during the official virtual period. With 29 bikes available for each live session, the in-person live event offers participants four different ride times with participant caps to limit the number of people who can sign up per time slot.

By setting up the GiveSignup feature Participant Caps they are able to control the amount of people registering for each time slot. There are many flexible options for how caps work with teams, single event participants, multi-event participants, and even ways to highlight spots remaining with a countdown or hide remaining spots.

Featuring Sponsors

Sponsors are featured on every page of Pedaling4Paige’s website. Their logos are automatically included in all notifications, Email Marketing, and other key touch points with participants and fundraisers like results notifications, photos, and more. GiveSignup’s sponsor platform lets you easily to set up sponsor levels and display settings. GiveSignup provides a full Sponsor management platform that’s integrated with your peer-to-peer fundraising event, making it easy to track payments, invoice sponsors (with credit card and offline payment options), provide stats on sponsor views, and more.

Pedaling 4 Paige also leveraged our free websites to provide content and resources for their fundraisers. For example, they created Fundraising Tips and Tricks to support their fundraisers and also highlighted Fundraising Prizes.

Integrated Donations and Fundraising

Pedaling 4 Paige is also a peer-to-peer fundraising event that gives participants the option to donate and create a fundraising page when they sign up. Each individual fundraiser has a $50 minimum goal and encouraged to share their page via social media to help raise more awareness and further their goal. GiveSignup also offers a free Facebook Fundraiser Integration that auto-creates a Facebook Fundraiser directly from our platform, making it easy for fundraisers to reach their goals by fundraising across the two platforms – donation amounts and goals stay in sync and funds raised on Facebook have no processing fees!

Pedal with Purpose

Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley (FIAGKV) hosts Pedal with Purpose. This is a 60+ mile Virtual Fundraising challenge event that can be achieved by biking, walking, or running throughout the month of May. All the proceeds of the event go to FIAGKV, which is a volunteer organization that provides free services like transportation to medical appointments, trips to grocery store, friendly check-in phone calls, and minor home repairs to senior adults.

Free Website

FIAGKV created a beautiful website that includes a cover page, feature images, video, content, calls-to-action, and a live donation goal. Content is well-organized and calls out important information that any donor or registrant would need. GiveSignup’s free websites are automatically SEO and mobile-optimized and can be built in minutes – no coding required!

Virtual Challenge Results

The Pedal with Purpose website has a dedicated page that showcases progress and results of each participant by allowing them to log their individual type of activity. While this event is meant for activities like cycling, walking, or running, this feature allows you to also include activities beyond the traditional endurance events like number of books read, or number of good deeds completed, and more can also be tracked with GiveSignup’s free Virtual Challenge Fundraising Event solution.

Take a look at a great example of a participants’ results page from last year. It features everything from their goal, bib number, and even live progress on a map.

The Pedal with Purpose event incentivizes their participants using custom milestones and badges for hitting different achievements in the challenge. Within each results page their trophy case displays the earned badges. Your event can easily pick your milestone type, badge type, and edit them. You can select from default image choices for badges or use custom images.
