Embeddable Donation Forms for Your Nonprofit’s Website

Posted by

Your nonprofit can raise money directly on your website with GiveSignup’s free embeddable donation forms and donate buttons. This keeps donors on your website while enabling your nonprofit to raise more and enhance the donor experience with GiveSignup’s free donation tools, like free email marketing, flexible recurring giving options, e-cards, custom donation levels, branded receipts, and more!

Donation forms are secure and mobile-optimized so that your team doesn’t need to do any coding — it’s as simple as copy and paste to add an embedded donation form to your website.

We posted back in 2019 and 2020 that modern browsers, like Safari and Chrome, no longer supported session tracking. As a result, we deprecated our widgets that customers previously used to embed registration and other components into their own websites. We simultaneously made significant investments in free websites — including cover pages and free domain/subdomain hosting. More recently, we’ve released initial versions of our new Website Builder, making it simple to add and manage content and pages to your website.

We also recognize that some nonprofits that have invested in their own website may not be ready to make the switch to GiveSignup | RunSignup’s free websites. Our embeddable donation form code is a safe and secure way to host a GiveSignup donation form on your website because it is sessionless (i.e., it does not store cookies).

In addition to adding a short HTML code that you can copy and paste into your nonprofit website, we will be releasing a specific shortcode for WordPress, and GiveSignup will be accessible as a plugin from WordPress.

There are three simple steps to embed a GiveSignup donation form in your website:

1. Create a Free GiveSignup Donation Form

It’s easy and free to create a donation form for your nonprofit’s general donations or a specific campaign, like GivingTuesday. This is a great upgrade path for nonprofits currently using PayPal to accept donations. Not only do you get a branded donation form, but you also get to use GiveSignup’s free tools to help nonprofits raise more — including free and unlimited email marketing to promote your campaigns and communicate with donors.

2. Copy Code From Your GiveSignup Donation Form

From your donation form, click Embed Form from the dropdown arrow.

Next, click Embed HTML code. (Note that the WordPress plugin is coming soon!)

Then, you will have the option to embed a donation form or button on your nonprofit’s website by copying the code for the option you want.

3. Paste Into Your Website

Finally, paste the code into the page of your website where you want to feature the donation form or button. If you have a developer who manages your website, you can share the code with them to add to your website.

We are excited to announce free embeddable donation forms that enable your nonprofit to keep donors on your website while raising more and enhancing the donor experience with GiveSignup’s free donation tools, like free email marketing, flexible recurring giving options, e-cards, custom donation levels, branded receipts, and more!

Coming next is GiveSignup’s WordPress integration to enable you to embed donation forms and buttons onto your WordPress site.
