GiveSignup | RunSignup creates free and easy-to-use event and fundraising software to help nonprofits raise more money, grow their events, and engage their supporters. More than 10,000 nonprofits and 26,000 events use GiveSignup, and we have helped our customers raise more than $1.4 Billion.

All customers are able to use GiveSignup’s registration platform for peer-to-peer fundraising events like runs, walks, rides, and more. Only nonprofit organizations can create Ticket Events and just accept donations with Donation Forms, Donation Websites, and Fundraising Campaigns. Previously, we limited these features to nonprofit organizations with greater than $50,000 revenue per year. This enables GiveSignup to focus our product and support on purpose-built solutions to help nonprofits raise more and engage their supporters, while reducing our business’s risk. 

We are starting a new program to allow new and small 501c3 organizations that do not meet our current requirements to use GiveSignup | RunSignup’s free technology to grow their nonprofits. To comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) rules and continue to offer free technology and low costs, we require a 90 day hold for new nonprofit organizations less than a year old and small nonprofit organizations with less than $50,000 annual revenue to ensure that there are no chargebacks. This allows new nonprofits to establish a good track record of payment processing while growing their organizations with GiveSignup’s free technology. 

The full requirements for new nonprofits less than one year old and small nonprofits with less than $50,000 annual revenue are:

  • Qualified 501(c)(3) organization (IRS form showing non-profit status)
  • In good standing on state business search
  • Officer information and approval
  • More than 2 voting members and employees
  • Picture of check for bank account
  • Last 3 months of bank statements
  • 501(c)(3)’s less than one year old and less than $50,000 annual revenue will be subject to three month payment hold to allow proper time to vet organization and determine status prior to releasing payments
